Like a Dragon: Ishin Trailer Shows Off Combat Styles and Weapons Coming to the Game

Ryu Ga Gotoku has revealed a trailer for their upcoming game Like a Dragon: Ishin. As the game gears up to make its way to Western markets after a PlayStation 3 and Playstation 4 release in 2014. The title will now be rebuilt completely from the ground up as it makes its way to the West next year and the studio has revealed a peek at the upcoming combat styles and weapons that will be included in the title.

Taking place in the 1860s during the Late Edo Period, the Yakuza spin-off title follows Sakamoto Ryoma as he returns home after completing his sword training and crosses paths with a prestigious samurai. The rest of the story is in the player’s hands as the history of Japan rests in your hands in 2023.

The recent press release reads:

“In 1860s Kyo, a solemn samurai’s fight for justice stands to change the course of Japan’s history forever. Draw your blade and join the revolution in this heated historical adventure.” 

Ahead of the game’s release, the studio also shared the digital rewards players will get when preordering the Digital Deluxe Edition. Along with the rewards listed below, players will get 3 days of early access to Like A Dragon: Ishin. Check out the in-game rewards below:

• Room Growth Support Kit
• Sword Upgrade Materials Kit
• Gun Upgrade Materials Kit
• Third Division Armament Expansion Kit
• The Dragon of Dogma Skin
• An additional three weapons:
  • Kijinmaru Kunishige, a dark sword with a white hilt
  • Bloody Sheen, a sword soaked in blood
  • Black Ship Cannon, a cannon taken from Western Ships

Like A Dragon: Ishin will release on PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on February 21, 2023.
