Fans of the beloved animated franchise will be delighted to see the return of Jack Black as the lovable panda, Po. But that’s not all! The movie also introduces a fantastic lineup of new characters that will join the fight.
In this next chapter of the Kung Fu Panda series, Po is preparing to pass on his Dragon Warrior role and take up the position of Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. But before he can do that, he has an important task at hand – training his successor. Enter Zhen, a cunning and quick-witted fox, who will keep audiences entertained with his clever antics.

Awkwafina joins the cast as the voice of Zhen. This talented actress is sure to bring her unique charm and humor to the character. Alongside her, fellow newcomers Viola Davis and Ke Huy Quan lend their voices to the new characters. Viola Davis takes on the role of Chameleon, a villainous and formidable shape-shifting lizard, while Ke Huy Quan portrays Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves.
Directed by Mike Mitchell with co-direction by Stephanie Ma Stine. Dustin Hoffman reprises his role as the wise Kung Fu master, Shifu. James Hong returns as Po’s adoptive father, Mr. Ping, Bryan Cranston as Po’s birth father, Li, and Ian McShane as the dark and dangerous Tai Lung, Shifu’s former student and arch-nemesis.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for a new installment in the Kung Fu Panda series since the release of Kung Fu Panda 3 in 2016. While the franchise has continued to entertain with animated television specials and series, including The Dragon Knight on Netflix, nothing beats the excitement of a feature-length film.
DreamWorks Animation made it official in August 2022 that Kung Fu Panda 4 was in production, bringing back the series to the big screen.
Kung Fu Panda 4 promises to deliver the perfect blend of action, humor, and heart that we’ve come to love from the franchise. Kung Fu Panda 4 will hit theaters on March 8, 2024. Check out the trailer below:
