The First Kraven the Hunter Trailer Has Been Unleashed

Sony Pictures has released the first Kraven the Hunter trailer which will bring another Spider-Man spin-off film into Sony’s film universe. The film follows an origin of the famous Spider-Man character as the Russian hunter played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is always after the next big hunt and in the comics leads to his putting Spider-Man in his crosshairs.

The film shows why it earned its R rating as it is action-packed and has plenty of gore. At one point we see the animalistic side of Kraven as he bites the nose off of a goon. The trailer takes us back to Kraven’s childhood leading up to his time in the United States and also a quick look at what looks to be a faithful look at our film’s villain in The Rhino. No mech-suit this time around as we previously saw in The Amazing Spider-Man.

The film stars Taylor-Johnson alongside Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbot, Alessandro Nivola, Levi Miller, and Russell Crowe. The film was helmed by J.C. Chandor with Avi Arad, David B. Householter, and Matt Tolmach producing.

Kraven the Hunter or Sergei Dimitri Symostivych Kravinoff is a longtime adversary of Spider-Man and was introduced in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #15 in 1964. He is one of Spider-Man’s biggest adversaries and also a character that makes up Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery along with being a founder of the Sinister Six. The character was created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee and has been featured in many stories in the comic runs featuring Spidey as well as being featured in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

Kraven the Hunter will arrive in theaters on October 6, 2023.
