Update: ESPN has reported that the now former AEW superstar Jade Cargill has signed a multi-year contract with WWE and is set to report to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL this week. Many have speculated she may join the main roster directly but details on whether she heads to NXT first are being kept under wraps.
Cargill is regarded as a rising star and managed to become AEW’s longest reigning TBS champion in her short two-year career as a professional wrestler.
Original Story: Jade Cargill‘s time in AEWseemed to be coming to an end after her final match on the 15th of September edition of Rampage. Despite failing to capture the TBS Championship from Kris Statlander, Cargill had a successful run in AEW, with an undefeated streak and a lengthy reign as the TBS Champion.
Reports initially suggested that Cargill was on her way to WWE, but it was later revealed that she had not yet signed a deal. However, creative plans are being put in place for her in WWE, and she is believed to be heading to the Performance Center in Orlando soon.
If Cargill does sign with WWE, there is a possibility that she could start her journey with the NXT brand. Many believe that she has the potential to become an instant star in WWE, including well-known commentator Booker T. Her athleticism and talent make her a perfect fit for the company.
WWE recently experienced an unofficial hiring freeze due to the takeover by Endeavor. However, this freeze has now ended, and wrestlers like Nia Jax have already returned and made a big splash as she brutally attacked Rhea Ripley. With WWE now merged with UFC under the TKO Group‘s umbrella, there is potential for even greater exposure for WWE Superstars, which could include Jade Cargill in the near future.
Cargill is a phenomenal talent who brings superstar power to any brand she represents. WWE‘s women’s division already features an impressive lineup of talent, and it will be interesting to see if she quickly makes her mark on the main roster or if she is expected to dominate the NXT lineup first.
