Hugh Jackman Suits Up in Comics Accurate Wolverine Costume for Deadpool 3
Shawn Levy has given fans what they have been asking for many years as the first look at Deadpool 3 reveals Hugh Jackman suits up in comics accurate Wolverine costume when he reprises his role for the Merc with the Mouth’s threequel film.
The film is looking to up the ante of the previous two films as they started the hype train announcing that Jackman would reprise his role of Logan/Wolverine and recently we saw the film’s star Ryan Reynolds in full costume as Deadpool. Not to mention the rumors of Ben Affleck returning as Daredevil being fueled by the report confirming Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra.
Jackman undoubtedly shot the live-action X-Men films to stardom with his picture-perfect portrayal of Wolverine when the first film premiered in 2000. Jackman would portray the character multiple times until he played the role for what was thought to be the last time in James Mangold‘s Logan in 2017. After Reynolds lured him back in, we knew this would be the time and person that could give fans what they hoped to see for many years with the yellow and blue classic X-Men look and Levy has now shown us that he will don the outfit in some capacity.
This will mark Deadpool‘s first film in the MCU and as such, the film’s plot finds itself locked away in Disney and Marvel Studios‘ vault of secrets with Kevin Feige holding the key. We know the film has been affected by the WGA writer’s strike as the film’s contract now prevents any improvisation from the written script. If anyone can find a way to make a good Deadpool film even with these hurdles it’s Reynolds himself, and we see it coming to fruition with something as minuscule but hugely celebrated as Jackman puts out his possible last showing as Wolverine in an outfit the fans deserve.
Deadpool 3 is currently slated to arrive in theaters on May 3, 2024. Check out the first look at Wolverine below:
