Peacock has dropped the Twisted Metalofficial trailer that not only highlights some of the action and chaos that the streamer is bringing to the series adaptation of the beloved video game franchise. Anthony Mackie‘s John Doe is unleashed into the post-apocalyptic world and we have already seen he will have an altercation with Sweet Tooth who is voiced by Will Arnett and embodied by Joe Seanoa.
Check out the series description below:
Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
The Deadpool duo of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are tackling the live-action adaptation of one of the most iconic PlayStation franchises. Reese and Wernick’s vision of the series was penned by Michael Jonathan Smith who also serves as showrunner. The series stars Stephanie Beatriz alongside Mackie with the cast being rounded out by Thomas Hayden Church, Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr.
Twisted Metal will premiere exclusively on Peacock TV on July 27, 2023.
