Helen of Wyndhorn Series Reunites Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Team At Dark Horse

Dark Horse Comics has announced Helen of Wyndhorn, a thrilling new gothic sword and sorcery epic that combines the best elements of Conan the Barbarian and The Wizard of Oz. This exciting new series reunites the highly talented team behind DC ComicsSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow – writer Tom King, artist Bilquis Evely, colorist Matheus Lopes, and letterer Clayton Cowles.

In Helen of Wyndhorn, we follow the journey of Helen Cole, daughter of the esteemed pulp writer C.K. Cole, who tragically passed away. Helen finds herself in a new and unfamiliar world as she is called to her grandfather’s grand estate, Wyndhorn House. Overwhelmed by grief, Helen initially leads a life of chaos and self-destruction. However, as she delves deeper into the secrets of Wyndhorn House, her perspective begins to shift.

Within the expansive manor, Helen uncovers a trove of secrets and mysteries that had been hidden for years. And beyond the estate’s walls, in the depths of the surrounding woods, she encounters the legendary adventures that were once only confined to her father’s stories.

To celebrate this highly anticipated return of the King and Evely creative duo, Helen of Wyndhorn #1 will debut with a selection of must-have, collectible variant covers. The main cover, illustrated by Bilquis Evely and colored by Matheus Lopes, captures the essence of the series. A special foil variant cover will also be available. Additionally, artists Tula Lotay, Elsa Charretier, and Massimo Carnevale have contributed their unique styles to create variant covers.

There will also be retailer incentive variants by Clay Mann and Walt Simonson, with Laura Martin providing colors. Lastly, keep an eye out for a pulp cover tribute variant by Greg Smallwood which will be revealed at a later time.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

DC previously announced that they will be adapting Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow into a movie. This series revolves around Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, and promises to portray a different side of Supergirl that we haven’t seen before.

James Gunn, the new studio boss, has given a glimpse of what to expect, stating that Supergirl’s upbringing is unique compared to Superman’s. While Superman was raised on Earth by loving parents, Supergirl endured the destruction of her home planet, Krypton, and witnessed the loss of those around her for the first 14 years of her life.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, series ran from 2021 to 2022. In this storyline, Supergirl is approached by an alien girl who seeks revenge after her own planet is destroyed. Supergirl must decide whether to assist her or if the stranger will take matters into her own hands, regardless of the consequences.
