Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio Trailer Reveals A Whimsical and Dark Adventure
Netflix has released a trailer for Guillermo del Toro‘s highly anticipated stop-motion musical reimagining of Pinocchio. The film The film which is officially titled Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and will be set in Mussolini’s 1930s Italy and is said to have been heavily inspired by Frankenstein. The trailer shows a darker-looking adaptation of the classic tale and gives viewers a deeper look into del Toro’s version of the famous tale of the wooden puppet.

Netflix‘s synopsis for Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio reads:
“Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro reinvents Carlo Collodi’s classic tale of the wooden marionette who is magically brought to life in order to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto. This whimsical, stop-motion musical directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson follows the mischievous and disobedient adventures of Pinocchio in his pursuit of a place in the world.”
The cast includes Gregory Mann, Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton. Del Toro co-directed the film alongside Mark Gustafson who also co-wrote the script with creator Patrick McHale. Lisa Henson is producing the film as part of the collaboration with the Jim Henson Company, with Alex Bulkley, Corey Campodonico, and Gary Ungar also producing.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio will arrive in theaters this November with the film scheduled to premiere on Netflix this December. Check out the trailer below:
