Gran Turismo Footage is Released and Reveals Sony’s Immersive Theatrical Experience
Sonyhas released the first footage for Gran Turismo. This will bring to life Sony‘s immersive games to theaters in ways that push the boundaries of the video games they are adapting. The footage shows that the film will be much more than a racing movie and will as it is explained by the film’s stars, a film that features drama and a love story.
The film will be adapting the true story of Jann Mardenborough who competed in Gran Turismo and defeated over 90k entrants which earned him the privilege of driving for Nissan at the Dubai twenty-hour race. He later went on to win multiple Nissan competitions and began his career as a professional race car driver. The film will be headlined by David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and Archie Madekwe.
The film also stars Geri Halliwell Horner, Djimon Hounsou, and Darren Barnet. The film is helmed by Neill Blomkamp from a script written by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. Doug Belgrad, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan,and Dana Brunetti produced the film with Kazunori Yamauchi, Herman Hulst, Hall, and Matthew Hirsch executive producing.
Gran Turismo will join one of the many adaptations coming from PlayStation Studios and Sony as they also work to bring to life The Last of Us Twisted Metal, Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, and the Ghost of Tsushima film adaptation directed by Chad Stahelski. The Last of Us will be the first of these we will see when it premieres on January 15, 2023.
