George Pérez Tribute Being Published by DC with All-Star Line-Up This June
DC Comics has announced that they will be publishing a tribute to legendary artist George Pérez in honor of his 68th birthday this June. The tribute that will be in all of the publisher’s June titles includes contributions from all-star artists that will all contribute to honoring the iconic artist.
The two-page spread will feature some of Pérez’s most beloved characters. The layout was designed by Dan Jurgens and will include illustrations from some of the biggest names in the industry including Alex Ross, Jurgens, José Luis García-López, Jim Lee, Nicola Scott, Phil Jimenez, Todd McFarlane, Walter Simonson, and many more.
Jurgens shared how honored he was to be able to design the layout honoring Pérez in the press release, saying:
“When I was asked to come up with a design and layout that would honor George Pérez and his many incredible contributions to DC Comics over the years, I was truly honored.
I have admired George’s work since I first saw it and have had the good fortune to work with him in different capacities, on a number of projects. More importantly, I’ve been able to see the way George treats fans and readers, always smiling, gregarious and approachable. It was a joy to watch this cover come together and I’m sure everyone who contributed feels the same way.”

Each issue of the series features a cover focusing on a previous crisis event in the publisher’s history and will begin with Marv Wolfman and Pérez defining Crisis on Infinite Earths in issue #1.
“George Pérez is one of my favorite comic storytellers of all time. To say he’s a ‘great artist’ is a massive understatement,” said Dark Crisis Writer Joshua Williamson. “His work on the original Crisis of Infinite Earths inspired so much of my love for DC Comics. When I saw DC editors pull together this incredible piece with so many amazing legendary artists celebrating George, I won’t lie, it was emotional. And now it’s an honor to have this tribute be a cover to Dark Crisis.”
The Hero Initiative will also have a special version of the Dark Crisis #7 variant cover for sale that will raise funds for Pérez’s favorite charities. Check out the full layout below and be sure to pick up some of the many titles releasing in June to see it in its full glory.
