First Gen V Trailer Brings a Bloody Look at ‘The Boys’ Spinoff Series
Prime Video has released the first trailer to ‘The Boys‘ spinoff series Gen V. The series takes place in Eric Kripke‘s The Boys universe and from what we see if the first trailer, we can expect a bloody and wild series much like what we have enjoyed from Butcher and the gang for three seasons now. The series takes viewers into Vought International’s attempt to usher in the next generation of supes within the walls of Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. The series will explore the Supes that attend the prestigious school and of course, with Vought, nothing is ever as it seems and they never find themselves in as much control as they would like to think.
Amazon Studios‘s description of Gen V reads:
“Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking.”
The series will star Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Shelley Conn, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. We also get a glimpse of some familiar faces from The Boys as the trailer shows Colby Minifie, P.J. Byrne, and Jessie T. Usher as well as some new faces who joined the series including Jason Ritter, Clancy Brown, and Alexander Calvert.
The series was developed by Craig Rosenberg and was originally titled The Boys Presents: Varsity. Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as co-showrunners with Kripke and Rosenberg executive producing alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Garth Ennis, Jason Netter, Zak Schwartz, Darick Robertson, Erica Rosbe, Michaela Starr, and Rosenberg.
Gen V will premiere exclusively on Prime Video sometime in 2023.
