Garfield Trailer Reveals Our Favorite Lasagna-Loving Cat’s Next Feline Adventure

Sony Pictures has released the first Garfield trailer, giving us a glimpse of Chris Pratt‘s portrayal of the iconic cat who despises Mondays. Get ready for an animated film that the whole family can enjoy when it hits theaters next summer. Accompanying Pratt in this star-studded cast are Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, and Hannah Waddingham.

Jackson will lend his voice to Vic, the enigmatic father of the famous feline. Meanwhile, Hoult will bring to life Jon, Garfield’s exasperated owner who constantly deals with the cat’s mischievous nature. As for Waddingham’s character, her role remains a mystery which will be unveiled closer to the film’s premiere.

The film’s description reads:

Garfield is about to go on a wild outdoor adventure. After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – the cat Vic – Garfield and Odie are forced to abandon their pampered life to join Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

Garfield is helmed by director Mark Dindal, known for his work on beloved animated classics such as The Emperor’s New Groove and Chicken Little. He will helm the film from a script written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds. Dindal aims to infuse his distinct style into this tale of a cantankerous cat who, deep down, loves the people around him but isn’t too keen on helping out at home.

Garfield is slated to premiere in theaters on May 24, 2024. Check out the official trailer below:
