First Trailer for Season 2 of House of the Dragon Prepares Viewers for Civil War
The first trailer for Season 2 of House of the Dragon has been released, giving viewers a thrilling glimpse into the next chapter of the Game of Thrones prequel series. Set to arrive on HBO in the summer of 2024, the trailer introduces us to the aftermath of King Viserys’ death, with Otto Hightower acknowledging that mistakes were made in the hours that followed.


As the trailer unfolds, we catch a glimpse of the upcoming war and the beloved dragons that will be at the center of it all. Rhaenys Targaryen, in her poignant statement, reminds us that there is no war more hateful to the gods than one between kin, and no war as blood-soaked as a war between dragons.
HBO has also announced new cast members for the upcoming season, including Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. They join previously announced cast members Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.


Returning cast members include Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen, Matthew Needham as Lord Larys Strong, Ewan Mitchell as Prince Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen, and many more.
