First Look at Universal Monsters: Dracula #1
Skybound and Universal Products & Experiences have unveiled a thrilling first look at Universal Monsters: Dracula #1. The highly anticipated debut issue marks the beginning of a four-part limited comic book series from the creative powerhouse of acclaimed writer James Tynion IV, known for his Eisner Award-winning works such as Something is Killing the Children and The Nice House on the Lake.
Joining Tynion IV is the incredibly talented artist Martin Simmonds, who has garnered multiple Eisner Award nominations for his work on The Department of Truth.

Universal Monsters: Dracula #1 takes inspiration from Universal Pictures’ iconic 1931 film and delves into a new narrative centering around the legendary count himself, Dracula. The story unfolds when Dr.
John Seward admits an enigmatic patient into his asylum, who begins recounting chilling tales of a demonic presence residing nearby. As Dr. Seward struggles to reconcile these supernatural claims with his logical mindset, his surrogate daughter Lucy becomes entangled in the seductive web of the sinister Count Dracula.
Not only does this series feature the menacing character of Dracula, but it also introduces characters from the original film, including R.M. Renfield, Mina Seward, Doctor John Seward, and Van Helsing, among others. Whether you are a long-time fan of the Universal Monsters movies or a newcomer to the universe, Universal Monsters: Dracula promises an immersive exploration of the darkest corners of this timeless villain’s iconic tale.
Universal Monsters: Dracula will be followed by a series of all-new limited editions spotlighting other iconic Universal Monsters. These subsequent series will showcase variant covers by some of the industry’s top talents, such as Joshua Middleton, Francis Manapul, Julian Totino-Tedesco, and Jenny Frison.
Universal Monsters: Dracula #1 will be available at your favorite local comic book shops on October 25, 2023. Check out the first look below:
