Fate: The Winx Saga Animated Series and Live-Action Film is Happening According to Creator

After the announcement from Netflix that Fate: The Winx Saga had been canceled after two seasons at the streamer. Series creator Iginio Straffi announced that Bloom’s story may not be over just yet. He posted on social media announcing that the series will continue in different forms after its cancellation. He stated that there is currently an animated reboot in the works along with a live-action film.

Of the projects, Straffi said:

“I am working on many exciting Winx projects in the near future, some of which I take so much joy in sharing with you,” Straffi wrote, elaborating that one of these will include a new animated series. “First off—a brand new CG Winx animated series reboot is going into production. Yes, a reboot that I promise to sweep you back to the Winx world.”

The series followed Bloom, a fairy with fire abilities who enrolled in a special boarding school for magical beings of Alfea or ‘the Otherworld.’ Bloom crosses paths with other fairies, each representing a different element, and with their help, begins to unravel her mysterious past and the secrets hidden within. The two-season live-action adaptation came from the original Winx Club characters from the Nickelodeon animated series.

In his statement, Straffi also noted a big-budget live-action film, saying:

“For all the love you have given to Winx, I am working hard hoping to bring you a top-quality movie where you can experience the Winx world, embracing once again all the core values of what this iconic brand has meant for you. Believing in yourself, empowerment, understanding true friendship, remembering the laugh out [loud] moments and of course enjoying the sparkling transformation times”

The series ended its second season on a cliffhanger that left many fans hoping to get news on the upcoming third season that would shed light on the reveals and state our characters were left in. The series cast included Abigail Cowen as Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra, Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Danny Griffin as Sky, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Robert James-Collier as Saul, Miranda Richardson as Rosalind, Theo Graham as Dane, Jacob Dudman as Sam, Ken Duken as Andreas, Brandon Grace as Grey and Paulina Chávez as Flora.
