Echo: Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio Reportedly Returning For MCU Series
Marvel has already confirmed that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will return to the MCU to reprise their roles of Daredevil and Kingpin at some point. They had not mentioned when that return would take place but according to The Hollywood Reporter, their return to the MCU will be happening in the Disney+ series Echo that is currently filming. The report states that Cox and D’Onofrio have joined the series alongside Alaqua Cox who is reprising her role of Maya Lopez from the Hawkeye series that starred Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld.
D’Onofrio played a role in the Hawkeye series and had strong ties to Cox’s character Maya so seeing him return in the spinoff series is not a big surprise. After Cox reprised his role in a cameo appearance in Sony and Marvel‘s Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was confirmed that a new Daredevil series was in the works at Disney+ with Cox reprising his role as the Devil in Hell’s Kitchen. His ties to Kingpin and specifically D’Onofrio’s Kingpin go back to the Netflix series adaptations that saw Kingpin play the main antagonist in the Daredevil series.
The report also went on to state that Cox’s Matt Murdoch will reportedly appear in the series looking for a former ally that is reportedly Krysten Ritter‘s Jessica Jones. This could be an entry point to fully implement the heroes from Netflix‘s Marvel series to cross into the MCU. Here’s hoping for Jon Bernthal‘s The Punisher to make his way back into the mix.
Stay tuned as more information or confirmation from Marvel comes our way. In the meantime, you can enjoy Netflix‘s Marvel series on Disney+ right now.
