Techland‘s Dead Island 2 recently saw a leak drop on Amazon and just a few days later, Dead Island2 had the long-awaited trailer and release date confirmed at Gamescom 2022. The trailer revealed the blood-fueled world of Dead Island as a new group of characters who will jump into the zombie-slaying sequel in February 2023.
Dead Island 2 will follow Jacob as he leaves the safety of his condo to enter apocalyptic California which is ruled by the undead. In the trailer, we see the scenic life of California, although with a zombie-swarming makeover that includes beaches, suburbs, and the city streets. We even see glimpses of carnivals as players use a mix of weaponry to deliver gory blows in updated gameplay similar to its predecessor.
“Several months after the events on Banoi, the United States military has put the Golden State under full quarantine. Now a restricted zone, California has become a bloody paradise for those who refuse to leave their homes and an action-packed playground for renegades who seek adventure, glory and a fresh start.
Combining the classic Dead Island elements of immersive close combat, action and role-playing, Dead Island 2 features crazy, never-before-seen handcrafted weapons and over-the-top characters in taking players from the iconic Golden Gate to the celebrated beachfront boardwalk of southern California’s Venice Beach.”
Dead Island 2 will feature six playable characters with the presentation revealing that the gameplay will feature “experimenting with your preferred zombie-slaying methods.”
Dead Island 2 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox On3, and PC on February 3rd, 2022. Check out the trailers below:
