Dead Island 2: Day One Edition Release Date and Screenshots Surface on Amazon
Techland‘s Dead Island 2 remains one of the most intriguing and highly-anticipated sequels and games despite it finding itself in developmental hell. Considering the same fate seems to have occurred to its predecessor, it’s been close to eleven years since Dead Island was released.
Fans, including ourselves, remain faithful that the sequel will arrive and we will be geared up for the zombie-slaying madness that will ensue but that day may be closer than we think as Amazon had a posting listed with the box art, screenshots, and a release date for next year.
The Amazon listing noted Dead Island 2 would be released on consoles for Xbox and PlayStation platforms with up to eight-player co-op. The listing featured a summary for the Day One Edition listing that read:
“Several months after the events on Banoi, the United States military has put the Golden State under full quarantine. Now a restricted zone, California has become a bloody paradise for those who refuse to leave their homes and an action-packed playground for renegades who seek adventure, glory and a fresh start.
Combining the classic Dead Island elements of immersive close combat, action and role-playing, Dead Island 2 features crazy, never-before-seen handcrafted weapons and over-the-top characters in taking players from the iconic Golden Gate to the celebrated beachfront boardwalk of southern California’s Venice Beach.”
If the listing is correct, Dead Island 2 will have us slaying hordes of zombies on February 3rd, 2023 which would put it releasing alongside Hogwarts Legacy which recently saw its release date pushed into February 2023.
