Dark Web: Spider-Man/X-Men Crossover Sees Them Taking On Chasm & Goblin Queen
Marvel Comics revealed details surrounding Dark Web. Revealed during San Diego Comic-Con, the publisher stated that Dark Web will see Spider-Man and the X-Men team up to take on Chasm and The Goblin Queen. The upcoming saga will be led by Spider-Man writer Zeb Wells, who is joined by artist Adam Kubert for Dark Web Alpha #1. But first, it all kicks off this November with prelude issues that will set the stage for upcoming one-shots, tie-ins, and limited series.
Marvel Comics‘ description of Dark Web reads:
“DARK WEB will find Spider-Man and the X-Men joining forces against two iconic characters that have experienced a resurgence in popularity in recent years—Ben Reilly and Madelyne Pryor. As seen in this year’s FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: SPIDER-MAN/VENOM, the two wronged clones are teaming up as Chasm and Goblin Queen to raise hell across the Marvel Universe. The story will fan the embers of the iconic INFERNO crossover and pack an emotional punch that pays off decades of Marvel Comics storytelling.”
A special Dark Web prelude will start in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #14 which is written by Wells and will feature art by Michael Dowling and Kyle Hotz. The issue will serve as a re-introduction of Chasm which has not been seen since Amazing Spider-Man #894 and Free Comic Book Day: Spider-Man/Venom. The issue will give readers a look at what Chasm and Goblin Queen have been up to since they were last seen. The issue will include a main cover by John Romita Jr. and a variant cover by Ed McGuiness.
Writer Christopher Cantwell and artist Lan Medina will take on a new tie-in limited series titled Gold Goblin that will bring Norman Osborn forefront and while his previous actions might have been cleared, the memories of his actions remain as Osborn works to avoid falling back into the Goblin’s hands. As his attempts to be a hero, see him dubbed the Gold Goblin by the media, he questions if he will ever be able to escape the Goblin.
