X-Treme X-Men Returns To Marvel With Original Creative Team
Marvel Comics announced during San Diego Comic-Con that the X-Treme X-Men would be returning with original creators Chris Claremont and Salvador Larroca. The series that played a pivotal role in defining the mutant superteam in the 2000s with elements that would shape the mutant mythos even to this day will come back for a five-issue series that the publisher states will “have wide-reaching implications for some of your favorite X-characters.”
Marvel Comics‘ description of X-Treme X-Men reads:
“A powerful psychic attack on Kitty Pryde from her old enemy Ogun brings the X-Treme team back together for a high-stakes mission…but what secret is Ogun hiding, and will even the combined might of Bishop, Sage, Gambit, Rogue, Rachel Summers, Storm, and Wolverine be enough to stop his insidious plan?”
Larroca shared their excitement to be returning alongside Claremont for new X-Treme X-Men adventures, saying:
“I’m very happy to be teaming up with Chris again to bring back the adventures of the X-Treme X-Men! It’s been a long time and I’ve missed this team and this book that I consider a child of mine. I hope fans enjoy what we’re doing with this new run–there’s lots of new histories to tell. This is the book that Chris Claremont fans have been waiting for and I’m proud to once again illustrate his awesome plots. Let’s make this an instant classic!”
X-Treme X-Men #1 will be available at your favorite local comic shop and digitally on November 30th, 2022 along with the X-Treme Marvel variant cover program that will celebrate the launch of the series. Check out the cover reveal with art by Larroca below:
