Charlie Day to Star in Dark Comedy Kill Me
XYZ Films and Dark Horse Entertainment have teamed up for the upcoming dark comedy film, Kill Me, directed and written by Peter Warren. Set to star in this gripping and hilarious murder mystery is Charlie Day, known for his roles in Fool’s Paradise, Pacific Rim, and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
In Kill Me, our protagonist Jimmy, portrayed by Day, wakes up in a bathtub, bewildered by what seems to be a failed suicide attempt. But Jimmy is convinced that he didn’t try to take his own life, and with the help of Margot, the compassionate 911 operator who answered his call, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth. It becomes a vital whodunit – is someone really out to kill him, or is he being chased by the haunting specter of depression?

Warren’s script will look to balance the sensitive portrayal of depression and mental health with an engaging mystery and humor. Day has showcased his ability to bring both vulnerability and comedic energy to his performances, and fits perfectly in the role to anchor this project as producer Mike Richardson further notes below:
Richardson speaks highly of the script, stating:
“When we first read Peter Warren’s script, we were impressed with his honest portrayal of depression and mental health, while still delivering a great mystery with plenty of humor.”
XYZ Films, too, shares their enthusiasm for the project. They express their confidence in the wide-reaching appeal of this wonderful and hilarious script, believing that Charlie Day was destined to play the role of Jimmy.

Kill Me is a collaborative production between XYZ Films, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Charlie Day, and Peter Warren. The film is executive produced by Paul Schwake and Kasey Adler for Dark Horse Entertainment.
Kill Me is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
