Brightburn 2 Reportedly in Development
Four years after the release of David Yarovesky‘s horror film Brightburn, fans of the unique take on Young Superman might get their chance to see more of this universe as a sequel is currently in development per a Deadline report. The film produced by James Gunn and co-owned by H Collective, this dark origin story of super-villain Brandon Breyer left audiences wanting more.
The announcement comes as The H Collective launches H3 Entertainment, a company focused on integrating the Metaverse, Web3, and AI into its film projects. In addition to embracing new technologies in the production process, H3 Entertainment aims to leverage these advancements for the upcoming Brightburn sequel without overshadowing the irreplaceable human touch in filmmaking.
The first film, which starred Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, and Jackson A. Dunn, centered around the concept of what would happen if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth but instead of becoming humanity’s savior, turned into something far more sinister. Its conclusion hinted at a twisted universe built around alternate versions of well-known superheroes, suggesting that Brandon is not the only super-powered being out there.
While details about the sequel remain sparse, fans can rest assured that their anticipation will be met with the development of a new chapter in this dark and compelling universe.
