Bill Skarsgard Cast in Lead Role for The Crow Reboot
The Crow reboot has found another star and director to take on the project that has been in the works for years now. Bill Skarsgard is the latest star to take the lead in the latest reboot with director Rupert Sanders helming the film. Skarsgard was the star of another reboot film with his portrayal of Pennywise in the It reboot. Sanders has helmed notable films such as Snow White and the Hunstman and Ghost in the Shell.
The film previously had Stephen Norrington attached to the film to direct but ended up departing the reboot. Corin Hardy later took up the helm in 2017 with Jason Momoa set to star in the film, but after the news on the film fell silent, nothing came of the project with both Momoa and Hardy departing the project as well. With Skarsgard and Sanders the latest to take on the project, we are hoping that the two can resurrect the reboot and see it be completed.
The first is the 1994 film that starred Brandon Lee with an on-set accident leading to the death of Lee. The film got a sequel in 1996 followed by two direct-to-DVD sequels. The film that has seen a long road to making it to screen is hoping to be a proper reboot has not come to life in quite some time leaving many fans of the franchise with high hopes and anticipation to see the film move closer to production.
The Crow has seen on-screen adaptations in the past and is based on the comic by James O’Barr. The Crow follows a supernatural hero who is resurrected after the violent death he and his lover suffer at the hands of a gang. He is resurrected to get vengeance against the killers.
