Amy Jo Johnson Penning Prelude Power Rangers Story for Boom! Studios
Boom! Studios has announced that the original Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson will be penning a prelude story for the publisher’s Power Rangers comic series. The Power Rangers have a long-standing mark with the publisher as countless stories have expanded the Power Rangers Universe and to celebrate an iconic 30 years, Boom! Studios is releasing Power Rangers: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration. The campaign has already garnered over $250K during its campaign which has unlocked the first stretch goal and proves that the iconic franchise still reigns among the fandom.
BOOM! Studios‘ Power Rangers comic series is undoubtedly a staple at the publisher and they have given the Power Rangers countless memorable stories. The original pink ranger, Amy Jo Johnson will deliver an 8-page prelude story. This prelude will give fans a unique look at their favorite pink ranger and will be featured in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special. While we do not have much information about the prelude right now, the story will set the stage for Johnson’s upcoming comic series with Boom! Studios which is sure to create another iconic story by one of the legacy characters and should be a special addition to the universe of the Power Rangers.
The BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign, POWER RANGERS: A 30th Anniversary Comic Book Celebration has blown past its $250,000 stretch goal, and surpassed half a million dollars. This just further proving Power Ranger fans may not have powers but can still get the job done!
Johnson shared her love for the Power Rangers community in a statement, saying:
“I want to thank the faithful Power Ranger community for the love and excitement from the announcement of my up-and-coming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book series! To kick it off, BOOM! has invited us to write a short story for this summer’s upcoming anthology special, which will introduce our re-imagined world of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! OG style!”
