The Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment award-winning medieval fantasy game A Plague Tale has a TV series currently in the works. It was confirmed via director Mathieu Turi‘s social media as he announced that the game was officially being adapted to the small screen.
The report attached mentioned that they plan to keep the TV series “closer to its setting and to the games’ original Bordeaux-based developer Asobo” instead of the US production studios that showed interest in taking on the project.
The caption on Turi’s post read:
“I’m honored to work on the adaptation as a TV series of A Plague Tale. Thank you to Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment for their trust. I can’t wait to bring Amicia and Hugo’s journey to the screen!”
The first entry in the game series, A Plague Tale: Innocence was released in 2019 and followed Amicia and her little brother Hugo during the 14th century Hundred Years’ War. The game mechanics relied much on stealth and ultimately delivered a captivating story with unique gameplay that had fans and critics giving the title rave reviews.
