Wonka Trailer Opens the Doors to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory
Warner Bros. has released the Wonka trailer opening the doors to the first footage of Timothée Chalamet as the young chocolatier in the early days of the factory. Touching on the origins of the famed character, we will get an inside look at the creation of some of the famous candy that came out of the factory and how the Oompa Loompas wound up at the factory as well. As you will see in the trailer, Wonka is hard at work gathering the needed ingredients and preparing for the grand opening of his factory.
As Chalamet embodies the character and brings his own version of the quirkiness the character has portrayed in the past, the goal remains the same. The chocolatier wants to be the revolutionary force behind the world of chocolate. We get a glimpse of his less-than-glamorous upbringing that is somewhat reminiscent of the means Charlie and his family came from but the optimism and ambition to be a part of that world is as strong as ever.
Starring alongside Chalamet is Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, Natasha Rothwell, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. The film is helmed by the writer/director of Paddington 2, David Heyman. The film is based on the characters from Roald Dahl‘s iconic and bestselling children’s books.
The film looks to carry the magic that the previous entries have delivered from Gene Wilder to Johnny Depp and as lovable as the cast will surely be in the film, the music is what really delivers that captivating presence. This film will undoubtedly not take that lightly as original songs will be in the film from Neil Hannon.
Wonka will be released in movie theaters on December 15, 2023.
