VisionQuest: WandaVision Spin-Off Announced with Paul Bettany Returning
Marvel Studios is set to bring fans a spin-off of the hit Disney+ limited series, WandaVision. Deadline reports that Paul Bettany is set to reprise his role for the upcoming series titled VisionQuest. The series is reportedly taking place after the events of WandaVision and will see Vision on a quest to regain his memory and humanity. As we recall in WandaVision, a grief-stricken Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) brought Vision back to life using her abilities. The report also states there is room and possibility for Wanda to appear in the series.
The project is reportedly being developed under the project name ‘the White Vision project’ as the last time we saw Vision, he did not resemble his old self and looked like a white shell of his former self after being created by S.W.O.R.D. which had the Vision we know go head-to-head with the alternate Vision in a battle of wills which even brought about a debate around the ‘Ship of Theseus’ and caused White Vision to abandon his mission of eliminating Wanda/Scarlet Witch and leading to what we believe will be this ‘VisionQuest’ of finding his past and revealing his future.
WandaVision put the Disney+ series world of the MCU on the map and led it to 23 Emmy nominations which could also very well have paved the way for lifting the lid on the very expansive universe itself the Disney+ side of the MCU has become with a ton of project already announced and surely more to come in the future.
We have already seen what Olsen’s Scarlet Witch was up to in the events that unfolded in this year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Kathryn Hahn‘s Agatha is already set to star in her very own series titled Agatha: House of Harkness as well. Bettany’s Vision remains the only loose end and this series could very well tie that off and reveal what the future holds for Vision.
Jac Shaeffer will reportedly oversee House of Harkness and VisionQuest. Shaeffer also co-wrote, created, and executive-produced WandaVision and is currently working under a three-year deal with Marvel Studios and 20th Century Television that he signed last year. Stay tuned as more information on VisionQuest is released in the future.
