Twisted Metal Teaser Trailer Invites You to Start Your Engines with First Look at Video Game Adaptation

Peacock has revealed the first Twisted Metal teaser and they are inviting fans to start their engines as the first look at the series shows off the insane landscape that will be the playground for the video game adaptation. The first look at the series sees series lead Anthony Mackie crank up the volume as he hits the road into what kicks off as a highlight reel of the world they have built for the series with guns blasting, fires, and explosions ensuing with the teaser capping off with a look at Joe Seanoa as the iconic character Sweet Tooth. Will Arnett is set to voice Sweet Tooth with former TNT Champion Seanoa (Samoa Joe) embodying the character.

Along with a look at Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick‘s adaptation of one of the most iconic PlayStation franchises. The series also dropped a release date that has it speeding its way to your home in just a few months. Reese and Wernick’s vision of the series was penned by Michael Jonathan Smith who also serves as showrunner. The series stars Stephanie Beatriz alongside Mackie with the cast being rounded out by Thomas Hayden Church, Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr.

“Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”

Twisted Metal will premiere exclusively on Peacock TV on July 27, 2023.
