Melissa McBride Returns to TWD in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol
Melissa McBride, who plays Carol in The Walking Dead, has been officially confirmed as a series regular in the upcoming second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. The news was announced at New York Comic Con.

In a statement, McBride expressed her enthusiasm for continuing Carol’s journey alongside her best friend, Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus). She mentioned feeling unsettled after watching Daryl ride away in the last season and hinted at the deep connection between their characters. McBride also praised the storytelling team for their ability to bring these established characters into a completely new world.
Originally intended as a spinoff focusing on the duo of Carol and Daryl, the series has undergone some changes. Due to logistical challenges, the storyline shifted to revolve solely around Daryl, who found himself in France and embarked on a mission to find his way back home. However, we can now look forward to Carol’s return, although her exact whereabouts and role in the series remain a mystery.

Season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon comes to a close this Sunday on AMC and AMC+. Daryl and Carol’s stories continue to unfold in this new and exciting chapter of The Walking Dead universe which now sees the killer duo together again.
