The Lincoln Lawyer Trailer Focuses on a Crooked Lawyer With Tons of Style
Netflixhas released a new trailer for the upcoming series The Lincoln Lawyer. The series is set to follow a lawyer whose morals are equivocal and practices law out of his Lincoln Town Car. The series is inspired by the Michael Connelly novels. The series will star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, the titular character. This marks the second time The Lincoln Lawyer has been adapted with the previous adaptation being in 2011 with the film starring Matthew McConaughey. The film was adapted from the first novel with the series following the second novel in the series titled The Brass Verdict.
Netflix‘s official series synopsis reads:
“Mickey Haller, an iconoclastic idealist, runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln Town Car, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles. Based on the series of bestselling novels by renowned author Michael Connelly, the first season is based on the second book in The Lincoln Lawyer series, ‘The Brass Verdict’.”
In the trailer, we are introduced to Garcia-Rulfo’s Mickey Haller as he practices law out of his iconic Lincoln. His understanding of the law is beyond right and wrong as he presents himself as someone with the sole belief that the law exists to be bent to the most confident and skillful lawyers. He knows how to win and does not shy away from cases from clients he knows to be guilty as long as he gets the win.
As successful as he is in the courtroom, he struggles that much more with his wife (Neve Campbell) whose marriage has strayed. For all the success his skill might bring him talking to a judge or jury, his attempts to get his family back seem to be immune to his smooth-talking.
The series is developed by David E. Kelley. The eleven-time Emmy winner is no stranger to courtroom dramas as he has brought series such as Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Legal, and recently, Goliath to the small screen. Goliath also starred Garcia-Rulfo which makes this the second courtroom project Kelley and Garcia-Rulfo collaborate on. Starring alongside Garcia-Rulfo and Campbell will be Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson.
The Lincoln Lawyer will premiere exclusively on Netflix on May 13th, 2022. Check out the trailer below:
