New Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Teaser Highlights the Threats Hidden Within the Multiverse

Marvel Studios has released a new teaser trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In the teaser, we see the threats that will come piling down on Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Threats from other dimensions threaten the MCU but the teaser serves as a reminder that no Marvel hero is ever alone as the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins with new and old allies joining the fight.

The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) provides a voiceover for the short teaser as we get small doses of all the threats Doctor Strange is set to face in the upcoming film. We see Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), an interdimensional monster, an evil Doctor Strange, and of course the rumored Marvel‘s Illuminati. Most of the footage has been previously shared, but there is a short glimpse of Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) destroying what appears to be a metal helmet. We also see what appears to be a flying human, whether it be something minuscule or perhaps Brie Larson‘s Captain Marvel, remains to be seen.

The official synopsis for the film reads:

“In Marvel Studios’ ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Jade Bartlett and Michael Waldron. The film also stars Xochitl Gomez, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Patrick Stewart. The film will release in theaters on May 6th, 2022. Check out the new teaser trailer below:
