From the creative mind behind the Academy Award-winning hit animated film, Ratatouille, Jim Capo brings us The Inventor, an upcoming stop-motion animated project set in the French capital during the Renaissance period. The film will shine a spotlight on the life and struggles of the legendary inventor Leonardo Da Vinci, voiced by the talented Stephen Fry.

The Inventor combines stunning stop-motion animation with an in-depth exploration of Da Vinci’s character. It not only showcases his brilliant creations but also delves into the personal challenges that haunted him behind the scenes. The trailer shows us Da Vinci in his later years as he narrates the trailer and explains that we will learn how he became the “insightful inventor” and it all leads to shots of his impressive creations while some are in awe of his genius, others don’t feel quite as positively.

The film’s synopsis reads:

“The insatiably curious and headstrong inventor/artist Leonardo da Vinci (Fry) leaves Italy to join the French court where he can freely experiment, invent flying contraptions and incredible machines, and study the human body. Joined in his adventure by the audacious Princess Marguerite (Ridley), Leonardo attempts to uncover the answer to the ultimate question: “What is the meaning of life?”

Fascinated by Da Vinci’s personal life, Capobianco crafts a mesmerizing tale that offers a unique perspective on the legendary inventor in his directorial debut. Joining the stellar cast is an ensemble of talent, including Daisy Ridley, Marion Cotillard, Gauthier Battoue, and Matt Berry.

The Inventor promises to be a visually stunning and emotionally resonant experience, capturing the essence of Da Vinci’s legacy and the complexities of his extraordinary life.
