Prime Video Developing Spinoff Series The Boys: Mexico
A recent report from Deadline has confirmed that Amazon is working on a The Boys spin-off titled The Boys: Mexico is currently in development at Prime Video. The show will expand the world of The Boys and will be executive produced by Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna. While they are considering starring in minor roles in the upcoming show, nothing has been confirmed at this time.

The story behind The Boys: Mexico will be crafted by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, who wrote the screenplay for this year’s Blue Beetle. Prime Video has been actively working on expanding their superhero universe, and The Boys: Mexico is just one of the shows set in the same world as their 2019 hit.
Prime Video has expanded the world of The Boys when they released Season 1 of Gen V earlier this year, which follows a group of young students at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting as they compete for a chance to join the Seven. The spin-off was well-received, leading to a quick greenlight for a second season.
It is currently unclear if The Boys: Mexico will directly tie into the main characters from either existing show. However, given the success of the original series adaptation, it is no surprise that Prime Video is continuing to build upon this world where superheroes are not as virtuous as they are often portrayed in other universes.

While the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2022 caused a delay in the release of the third season of The Boys, production on the upcoming episodes has been completed and the series is ready for the streamer to unleash the next season in the fan-favorite flagship series. Fans can expect the highly anticipated fourth season to make its way to Prime Video sometime in 2024.
Stay tuned as more information on The Boys: Mexico becomes available.
