Tekken 8 Cinematic Trailer Officially Reveals Next Entry in Fighting Game Franchise [State of Play]
Bandai Namco released a cinematic trailer for Tekken 8 officially confirming the next entry in the popular fighting game franchise during today’s State of Play presentation. The trailer featured iconic characters Kazuya and his son Jin as they take each other on in a fight just as we witness Kazuya call upon the power of the devil gene he possesses to gain an edge in the fight.
No other information was released but the Chief producer of the project Katsuhiro Harada noted that what was shown in the trailer was pulled directly from a currently in development portion of the story in-game. He made a point to note that this was not a pre-rendered cinematic and was real-time rendered footage running at 60 FPS. They decided to use this footage to give players a peek into the quality that they are able to capture using the PlayStation 5 and we have to agree, it looks phenomenal.
Tekken 8 was not given a release date with the trailer cutting out to “stay tuned” so we will do just that and keep you posted as more information is released.
