Super Dinosaur Compendium One Collects Kirkman and Howard’s Series at Skybound Comet
Skybound Comet has announced the upcoming release of Super Dinosaur Compendium One. This highly-anticipated graphic novel collects the popular series by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Jason Howard, bringing it together in one volume for readers.
Super Dinosaur Compendium One is an adventure-packed story that includes Super Dinosaur issues #1-23 and the Super Dinosaur Origin Special, making it the first time these stories are collected in a single volume. Kirkman and Howard have crafted a buddy story filled with action, perfect for readers of all ages and species.

The story revolves around the Evil Max Maximus, who desires to reach Inner-Earth, where dinosaurs and the powerful DynOre mineral reside. It’s up to Super Dinosaur and Derek Dynamo to stop him. The fate of the world rests on the shoulders of a ten-year-old kid and his best friend, a nine-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus Rex who loves playing video games.
Co-creator Robert Kirkman expressed his excitement, stating:
“Crafting Derek Dynamo and Super Dinosaur’s world alongside the amazing Jason Howard has always been a highlight of my career. To be able to share these characters with a new generation through Skybound Comet is a dream come true.” Jason Howard also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “Super Dinosaur is the mash-up of everything I found awesome as a kid: Dinosaurs, robots, adventures in hidden worlds, and big comic book action! I can’t wait for new readers to experience this world for the first time.”

Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound, expressed excitement about bringing Super Dinosaur to new audiences:
“We’re so thrilled to give Robert and Jason’s middle-grade masterpiece a new home at Skybound Comet. While long-time Skybound fans have loved Super Dinosaur for some time, we’re excited to bring this ‘dino-mite’ edition to new audiences in bookstores, libraries, and beyond!”
Super Dinosaur Compendium One will be available everywhere books are sold and digitally on July 9th, 2024, and at your favorite local comic shop on July 10th, 2024.
