Star Wars Outlaws Premiere Reveals Ubisoft’s Open-World Star Wars Game
Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft unveiled the trailer showcasing Star Wars Outlaws. The premiere showed off the developer’s upcoming open-world Star Wars game. Known for their work developing The Division series, the reveal trailer introduced us to our protagonist and their trusty sidekick who are on the run from a bounty hunter.
Not much is known other than what we saw in the trailer at yesterday’s showcase and the gameplay shown off today but the trailer’s description does share a bit more, saying:
Experience the first-ever open-world Star Wars™ game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. Risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.
The Ubisoft Forward today did give us a deeper dive into the gameplay which showed a combination of stealth and action while showing off a world with likeness to that which we explored just recently in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Although the games will likely feature many differences, the movement, and world-building has some similarities which is a testament to the promise that Outlaws shows.
Star Wars Outlaws will release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2024.
