Sirens of the City: Can you Survive the Mean Streets of Boom! Studios’ Upcoming Series?

Boom! Studios has revealed the first look at Sirens of the City #1. The upcoming premiere issue of the six-issue limited series by superstar creators Joanne Starer, Khary Randolph, and AndWorld Design will feature an oversized look at the mean streets that Layla will traverse with supernatural entities from all mythos including sirens and incubi.

Boom’s description of the series reads:

Runaway teen Layla struggles to survive the mean streets, far from home. Meanwhile, every supernatural creature–from sirens to incubi–descend upon the city…all in vying for control of Layla and the pregnancy she never wanted.

Sirens of the City #1 will feature a main cover by series artist Randolph and variant covers by artists Jenny Frison, Lee Garbett, David Mack, and Skottie Young.

Creatures populating 1980s New York City with a punk rock protagonist is definitely an eye-catching lure to this series. The short description starts to paint the picture further which opens the door to some interesting narratives to be explored and although the series only runs four issues, an oversized premiere issue means the creative team has a big story to tell that could very well extend past this limited series introduction.

Sirens of the City #1 will be available at your favorite local comic shop and digitally on July 12, 2023.
