SPIDER-MAN FRESHMAN YEAR Animated Series Is Headed To Disney+ And Will Celebrate Early Comic Book Roots
In case you missed it, Disney has been announcing a plethora of new projects and announcements stemming from all properties in the Disney line such as Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar. This announcement sets the stage for a new animated series focusing on Spidey’s early comic book roots titled Spider-Man Freshman Year. Along with the announcement we got a logo reveal.
Announced in a Twitter thread of tons of Marvel property reveals and also on Marvel’s official website, the new series will follow Spider-Man in his early days of high school and the friendly neighborhood web-slinger. It’s unclear who will voice the character, although it would be cool to have Tom Holland lend his voice, with his other projects and already the live-action spidey, it just seems unlikely.
The blog post also announced that the series will follow “Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.” The series will be written and executive produced by Jeff Trammel.
