Reviewed by Weird – Sea Serpent’s Heir Book Two: Black Wave
For those who know, there are certain things that grab my attention pretty quickly. Pirates, magic, and big monsters are just a few of those things. So…when I heard about the graphic novel Sea Serpent’s Heir Book Two: Black Wave and that it had all three of these things, you can bet that I was most definitely interested!
If you haven’t heard about the book, here’s a little about it:
For teenage Aella, growing up is hard. It’s even harder when you find out that you’re the reincarnation of an ancient sea serpent named Xir that’s destined to destroy the world! Aella always dreamed of a life filled with excitement and adventure, but soon gets more than she bargained for as a fanatical religious organization of zealots, trained warriors, and pirates comes to her island looking to destroy the world-ending serpent. Fortunately, you don’t earn the title of Sea Serpent’s Heir without becoming more than a little dangerous yourself…
Mairghread Scott has returned with the next installment of her Sea Serpent’s Heir series in a very big way! Where Book One, was all about setting out on an adventure, knowing that she was destined for bigger things than just sitting around town, Book Two jumps right into the biggest adventure of Aella’s life, trying to find her place in the world after the disappearance of her mother. She quickly tires of trying to fill her mother’s shoes, and do things the way other people would do them, she decides to take matters into her own hands and do things her own way, with mixed results!
If you’re a fan of pirates, magic, big monsters, and adventures on the high seas, check out Sea Serpent’s Heir Book Two: Black Wave when it hits your local comic book store and bookshelves everywhere on September 5th!
