Rurouni Kenshin Reboot Gets Trailer and Release Window
The Rurouni Kenshin reboot has gotten a trailer and release date. The rebooted anime series debuted its first trailer giving fans a tease at what they can expect from the revamped take of the classic anime series. The original anime franchise debuted over twenty years ago, and Aniplex is gearing up to be making a big return to the small screen with the new anime series. The new and rebooted anime series are adapted from the Shonen Jump manga series by Nobuhiro Watsuki.
Crunchyroll’s description for the original series reads:
“Welcome to the Meiji Era. Japan is a land experiencing times of troubled peace and renewal after a long and bloody civil war. Swords and killing are outlawed, but all is not as well as it would seem. Lurking in the shadows are many survivors of the revolution awaiting their chance for vengeance. Only the former government assassin, Kenshin Himura can keep the peace. Kenshin gives up the life of ‘Battousai The Man Slayer’ and sets off as a lone wanderer. His travels lead to the Kamiya Dojo where he discovers the chance to start life over.”
The reboot anime series was announced last year during the Jump Festa convention and since the announcement, the rebooted project has been revealed to be a new anime series that will adapt the events of the original manga series. The trailer debuted during the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 and is slated to release sometime in 2023.
