Image Comics and Ghost Machine are bringing fans back to the dangerous world of Rook: Exodus this October with the launch of a brand-new story arc in Rook: Exodus #7. The acclaimed series from Geoff Johns (Geiger, Superman, Batman: Three Jokers), Jason Fabok (Batman: Three Jokers), Brad Anderson, and Rob Leigh is set to introduce high-stakes twists, shocking reveals, and a sinister new threat determined to hunt down one of Exodus’ most powerful Wardens.
The new arc kicks off as Rook and Dire Wolf embark on a perilous mission to save Dire Wolf’s father, Bloodhound—a once-mighty Warden whose mind has been fractured by the primal force of his mask. But they aren’t the only ones searching for him. A new character, teased earlier in the series and finally revealed as Stag, is on the hunt too… and his goal is Bloodhound’s death.
“Bloodhound’s gone mad under the influence of his mask,” says Fabok. “Think of him like a rabid animal—a predator roaming the North. Stag is tracking him too, and when their paths collide, the stakes couldn’t be higher.”
The six-part arc will also showcase a sprawling connected cover across all issues, illustrated by breakout Malaysian artist Kael Ngu, spotlighting Exodus and its Wardens across both story arcs.
Fans can also expect an expanded roster of Wardens—both allies and enemies. “Rook will team up with characters we only hinted at before, like Matterhorn, the Warden of Goats,” Johns explains. “But they’ll also face terrifying new foes, including Arachnid, the Warden of Spiders. Jason’s designs push the boundaries of what we’ve ever done before. That’s the thrill of Rook—taking risks with the story and visuals to create something truly different.”
