Dead by Daylight has been no stranger to crossovers with its constant collaborations with horror movie icons, K-Pop, Silent Hill, and now, we have Resident Evil crashing the party.
In celebration of it’s 5-year anniversary. Behaviour Interactive showed us a look at Resident Evil joining the title. The crossover is set to happen on June 15th, here’s what you can expect.
The crossover brings us two new survivors. They are no stranger to Resident Evil fans as we will get the iconic Leon Kennedy to join the fight along with Jill Valentine. They both come with 3 perks players will get to enjoy, including Leon’s Flashbang perk that provides something entirely new to Dead by Daylight. Now, Leon can hide in a locker to craft a grenade, marking the first time players will be able to spawn a brand new item.
Now, the fun side… On the killer’s side, Nemesis makes his return, infecting survivors with his tentacle attacks and gaining power through each infection that gives him more power and tentacle reach. We’ve seen tentacles do many things, some we wish we could forget, but in this case, it’s a pretty awesome-looking attack and ability. Players can scout for vaccines hidden throughout the map, using them to continue on their mission regarding generators.
We also have a new map dropping. The Resident Evil DLC will also include the Racoon City Police Station map. Although, not the police station we are used to seeing.
“We could not have dreamed of a better way to celebrate our fifth anniversary than by welcoming the legendary characters from Resident Evil into our universe. They are at the root of all horror in video games and we are humbled to be able to honor that legacy with a new chapter, thus cementing our own position as the Hall of Fame of Horror”, explains Mathieu Côté, Game Director for Dead by Daylight. “We are so very grateful to Capcom for everything they’ve done in the last 25 years to bring us immersive, terrifying games. It is an incredibly proud moment for us.”
You think they are done there? THINK AGAIN! We can’t have a Resident Evil crossover without zombies, so, for the first time ever in Dead by Daylight, zombies will be infesting the map to help Nemesis. So, survivors will have to avoid the killer and also the new PvE enemies that are flooding the map.
The Resident Evil Chapter arrives in Dead by Daylight on June 15 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia.
