PlayStation Announces Remote-Play Handheld Device and Wireless Earbuds [PlayStation Showcase]
Today’s PlayStation Showcase was almost all but done when PlayStation announced “Project Q”. The code name for the remote-play handheld device which will connect to PlayStation 5 consoles via Wi-Fi and allow you to take your installed PlayStation 5 games with you around your home. They did not give many details past that but it appears as if this may be a way to further expand their remote play beyond its capabilities now.
As shown in the showcase, the 8-inch screen will have the PS5’s Dualsense controller attachments on both ends which will mimic the shape and features included in the current PS5 Dualsense controller for your console.
PlayStation further added to this announcement with the reveal of the PlayStation wireless earbuds. These wireless earbuds will be compatible with not only your PlayStation 5 console, but also PCs, and smartphones through Bluetooth connection.
Although not the full capability of a Nintendo Switch which allows you to take your games anywhere you want or even the Steam Deck which does the same through Steam connectivity. PlayStation seems to want to broaden the reach of its remote play and many gamers will agree that sometimes we wish we could pick up our games and take them with us to another room or not be glued to our TV as we play. This is definitely an appealing piece to add to the already impressive PS5 console.
Furthermore, wireless earbuds that carry the sleek design and flashiness of AirPods are definitely a welcome addition to those gamers who do not want to have a fancy headset strapped to their heads for hours on in. This is also something that is a welcome addition to the lineup of accessories and the compatibility beyond the PS5 makes it even more useful and intriguing.
No further details are known at this time but be on the lookout as PlayStation reveals more information in the future.
