Hulu has released a trailer for the upcoming animated Marvel series M.O.D.O.K. along with their plans to unleash him to their streaming service on May 21st, 2021.

Patron Oswalt will lead the cast as the voice of the maniacal supervillain, M.O.D.O.K., and is also co-creator of the series along with Jordan Blum. M.O.D.O.K.:

“has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.’s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet: a midlife crisis!”

We’ve had this series on our radar since its announcement. Also, be sure to pick up M.O.D.O.K. Head Games, a comic book mini-series that is also co-created by Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum. Although, not a direct tie in, the comic book has been a wonderful addition to the Marvel comic book line and shows what Oswalt and Blum have in store for M.O.D.O.K., which is to give us a fun and unique interpretation of a character who has seen many transformations and still honor the original creators, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The Hulu series doesn’t fit the bill with what we come to expect from Marvel but, in this case, its unique concept and the ability that Oswalt and Blum have shown to create content that fills us with laughter and joy, should be quite the experience we need to change things up in Marvel.

Jordan Blum had this to say to fans:

“So excited to give people their first taste of this insane, violent, heartfelt, action-packed comedy we’ve been cooking up. This is a love letter to all the Marvel comics you grew up reading.”

The series will be produced by Jeph Loeb and stars Aimee Garcia(Lucifer), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Beck Bennet (Saturday Night Live, Bill & Ted Face The Music), Sam Richardson (Werewolves Within) and Jon Daly (The Kroll Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm).
