Neon Releases Trailer for Sydney Sweeney’s New Horror Movie Immaculate

Neon has recently unveiled the trailer for Sydney Sweeney‘s upcoming horror movie Immaculate, offering a glimpse into what appears to be a chilling and enigmatic homage to classic horror films. Sweeney, known for her diverse projects that span genres, is set to follow up her recent success in the rom-com Anyone But You with an upcoming role in Sony’s Madame Web and now looks to bring some chills to the silver screen featuring an unholy pregnancy.

In this new film, Sweeney takes on the role of Cecilia, a devout woman who receives a seemingly rewarding opportunity at a prestigious Italian convent. However, her warm welcome to the serene Italian countryside is swiftly overshadowed by the revelation of dark and unsettling secrets within her new residence.

The trailer seems to affirm the implications of the film’s title, hinting at mysterious forces leading to Sweeney’s character’s unexpected pregnancy. Additionally, it portrays Cecilia navigating eerie confessional encounters and grappling with probing questions from a fellow nun, evoking a palpable sense of uncertainty and apprehension.

Immaculate is helmed by director Michael Mohan, known for his collaboration with Sweeney in 2021’s The Voyeurs, and features a screenplay by Andrew Lobel. The movie’s cast includes Simona Tabasco, Alvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Dora Romano.

Immaculate will arrive in theaters on March 22nd, 2024. Check out the official trailer below.
