New Cyberpunk Game and Multiple Witcher Games Planned by CD Projekt Red
CD Projekt Red has unveiled its plans for games in development in the future. Among the planned projects, players can look forward to a new Cyberpunk game as well as multiple games for The Witcher. The investor call held by the studio today revealed the codename for the upcoming Cyberpunk game which currently is codenamed, Orion. There aren’t many more details on the project but CD Projekt Red did note that the game “will take the Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe.”
Players already know that The Witcher‘s next installment is in development at CD Projekt Red but now we know the project is codenamed Polaris. The studio previously acknowledged this next entry was meant to usher in a new saga in the franchise and will look to bring players two more titles within The Witcher‘s universe which will be a new trilogy for the RPG.
The studio also noted that a “full-fledged” Witcher game from an external studio is also in the works from a studio that has previously worked on The Witcher. The project is currently codenamed Canis Majoris. Lastly, The Molasses Flood is developing another game in The Wicher universe codenamed Sirius.
CD Projekt Red shared some details on the project, saying
“Sirius is a codename for the game developed by [The Molasses Flood], set in The Witcher universe and created with support from CDPR. It will differ from our past productions, offering multiplayer gameplay on top of a single-player experience including a campaign with quests and a story.”
CD Projekt Red is keeping quite busy it seems and if that wasn’t enough, they also announced that they are working on a brand-new IP that is being created from scratch which is still in very early stages of development. They are currently still in the creative process of the new game while “working exclusively on the foundation for this new setting.”
