Netflix Has Officially Renewed Blue Eye Samurai for Season 2
Netflix has officially renewed Blue Eye Samurai, the thrilling adult animated series created by Michael Green and Amber Noizumi for a second season. After receiving immense praise for its stunning animation, it’s no surprise that Blue Eye Samurai has been recognized as one of 2023’s standouts, not only in animation but in any medium.

Set in the Edo period of Japan, the series follows Mizu, a skilled swordmaster with a burning desire for revenge against the white men responsible for the tragic fate of her mother and her own existence as a “creature of shame.”
Disguising her gender, Mizu embarks on a relentless journey across the country to seek retribution by ending the lives of these men. Along the way, Mizu becomes feared as a monster by her enemies, effortlessly slicing through them while also striving to find her true self.
The series stars Maya Erskine as Mizu and is joined by the ensemble cast that includes Brenda Song, Darren Barnet, Randall Park, Kenneth Branagh, George Takei, Masi Oka, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Brian Takahashi, Christine Ko, Alain Uy, Ming-Na Wen, and Mark Dacascos.

The co-creators have exciting plans in store for the series, with a four-season roadmap to keep the story moving forward and the blood flowing. In their statement celebrating the renewal, Green and Noizumi expressed their gratitude to the team behind the series and the viewers worldwide who have shown immense passion for Mizu and her path of revenge. They also hinted that even more violence awaits in the future of the series.
The first season left fans on the edge of their seats as Mizu embarked on a new chapter, venturing to London in pursuit of her next target. If you haven’t already, you can stream Blue Eye Samurai Season 1 on Netflix now. While no release date for the highly-anticipated Season 2 has been announced yet, stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
