Monsters Are My Business Set To Deliver A Hell of A Bloody Time at Dark Horse
Dark Horse, in collaboration with talented creators Patrick Piazzalunga and Cullen Bunn, invites fans of blood-drenched horror and twisted humor to delve into the gripping world of Monsters Are My Business (And Business is Bloody). This thrilling four-part comic series takes readers on a relentless battle against the nightmarish creatures that lurk beyond time and space.
Bunn and Piazzalunga will team with other creators that include the colors of Marco Brakko (known for Grimm Universe Presents Quarterly: Steampunk), and lettered by Jim Campbell (whose works include If You Find This, I’m Already Dead and Midnite Show). Together, they create a visually vibrant world immersed in horrors beyond imagination.

At the center of this chaotic landscape is Tanner “Griz” Grisholm, a determined individual who finds himself embroiled in a violent war against the terrors that haunt humanity’s worst nightmares. Accompanied by a cunning necromancer who wishes him dead and a chainsaw-wielding koala bear named Cuddles, Griz must confront the creatures that defy comprehension.
Though his work goes unnoticed and unappreciated, he remains the last line of defense against these eldritch horrors. But when a group of government contractors mysteriously disappears in the nightmare-infested Flooded Zone, Griz unwittingly stumbles upon a mystery that threatens to consume him.
With his former biker gang, the Howling Gargoyles, involved in nefarious activities, Griz must confront his own haunted past. Will he find the strength to overcome the memories and doubts that haunt him?
Cullen Bunn, acclaimed creator and writer, shares his excitement about the birth of this project:
“Patrick and I had discussed collaborating on a new creator-owned title for some time. He shared concept sketches of a rugged biker and a chainsaw-wielding koala bear. From that simple spark of an idea, we developed a story filled with elder gods, mutant cults, mercenary necromancers, and a deluge of thrilling, bloody violence.
Monsters Are My Business came to life! I’m truly in awe of Patrick’s ability to seamlessly fuse horror, action, and comedy. Readers will undoubtedly be enraptured by this book!”

Piazzalunga echoes the excitement, stating:
“I am thrilled about this comic. Cullen and I set out to create a horror comedy packed with tentacled monsters. As fans of 80s horror films, Lovecraftian tales, and gore-drenched splatter, we knew we were onto something special. Cullen’s exceptional storytelling truly impressed me.
When I read the scripts, I was overcome with excitement, and I thoroughly enjoyed bringing Griz and Cuddles to life with their chainsaws. If you share our love for all things horror, Griz and Cuddles eagerly await your arrival!”
Monsters Are My Business (And Business is Bloody) #1 will arrive at your local comic shop on April 10, 2024.
