Miranda Otto Will Voice Éowyn for The War of the Rohirrim Animated Film
New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation have announced the cast for the upcoming animated film, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. According to a report from Deadline, the cast includes Miranda Otto reprising her role of Éowyn as well as Brian Cox and Gaia Wise. The animated film takes place between The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and will tell the story of the House of Helm Hammerhead, king of Rohan with Éowyn serving as the narrator for the film.
Starring alongside Otto, Cox, and Wise will be Luke Pasqualino, Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Shaun Dooley, Benjamin Wainwright Laurence Ubong Williams, Michael Wildman, Bilal Hasna Jude Akuwudike, and Janine Duvitski. Writers Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou wrote the screenplay from a script written by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. The film is based on J.R.R. Tolkien‘s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and executive produced by Philippa Boyens and Joseph Chou.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is set to release in theaters on April 12th, 2022.
