Love Me: A Romance Story Brings A Story of Robot Love At First Sight to Mad Cave
Mad Cave Studios has unveiled Love Me: A Romance Story, the debut romance/sci-fi/action series from writer Francesca Perillo. This exciting series features art by Stefano Cardoselli (Don’t Spit in the Wind), colors by Lorenzo Scaramella, letters by Buddy Beaudoin, and a variant cover by artist Nimit Malavia.
Set in New York City, sometime in the distant future, Love Me introduces readers to a world where robots like JoJo have assumed responsibility for tasks that humans no longer wish to perform – including driving taxis. JoJo finds contentment in his existence but senses an absence in his life, until he encounters Gilda and experiences love at first sight.
However, the path of true love is far from smooth, as JoJo soon discovers that Gilda is entangled with the mafia that governs the city, posing significant obstacles to their potential union. Brace yourself, JoJo!

“Love Me is a story for everyone; it embodies possibility, hope, and diversity. It delves into the capacity to await and recognize love following personal fulfillment,” expressed Francesca Perillo. “If one finds fulfillment in their life, embracing their accomplishments, conquests, and chosen friends despite adversities, they can make space for genuine emotions, even if they are daunting and present formidable challenges and unfamiliar feelings.
Love Me mirrors the experiences of those who have patiently awaited true love, whether in the confines of a taxi or across a bar table, similar to what occurred to me.”

“This marks my inaugural foray into the realm of romance storytelling. It has fostered patience in meticulously constructing the details of the story’s design and incorporates numerous intricacies that I hope readers will appreciate,” shared artist Stefano Cardoselli.
“I had a delightful time sprinkling Easter Eggs throughout many pages of the comic, teasing the author Francesca a bit! While working on this series, I encountered fresh challenges, such as creating buildings, skylines, perspectives, and viewpoints different from those in my prior Mad Cave series (Don’t Spit in the Wind).
The utmost challenge lay in conveying the emotions experienced by a robot devoid of the ability to smile or express disappointment, armed only with a pair of binoculars to view the world.”

“The title of this series resonates with me as I have developed a profound fondness for the narrative and collaborating with Stefano Cardoselli and Francesca Perillo,” remarked Mad Cave Studios editor, James Emmett.
“Stefano’s work consistently pushes the visual boundaries, and he has discovered an exceptional counterpart in Francesca. Together, they have brought to life a dystopian futuristic portrayal of a love story, as perceived through the eyes of JoJo, a robot taxi driver.”
Love Me: A Romance Story #1 will be available at your favorite local comic shop on April 17th, 2024.
